Lakshmi Puja 2026 date and New Delhi muhurat

Diwali Lakshmi Puja is on Sunday, November 8, 2026. For New Delhi, the Pradosh Kaal Lakshmi Puja window is 5:54 PM to 7:50 PM local time. The broader Pradosh Kaal is 5:31 PM to 8:09 PM. These times are calculated for Delhi; do not copy them as an all-India time.

City-wise reference timings

The same calendar lists these local windows for November 8: Kolkata 5:20–7:18 PM, New Delhi 5:54–7:50 PM, Hyderabad 6:07–8:08 PM, Chennai 6:07–8:09 PM, Bengaluru 6:17–8:20 PM, Ahmedabad 6:22–8:20 PM, Pune 6:24–8:24 PM and Mumbai 6:27–8:27 PM. Confirm your exact city and family tradition before starting the puja.

Prepare without rushing

Clean the puja space, place Lakshmi and Ganesha images or idols according to your family custom, keep flowers, rice, kumkum, diya, incense and offerings ready, and leave enough room for everyone to sit safely. Some families also worship account books or tools; this is commonly called Chopda Puja in business communities.

A safe home checklist

Keep flames on a stable tray away from curtains, paper and children. Finish cooking and arrange offerings before the window begins. Switch off electrical decorations before sleeping. If your temple, priest or regional panchang gives a different local time, follow that location-specific guidance and record the source date.
