The Red Line (Danapur Cantonment to Khemni Chak, 17.93 km) and Blue Line (Patna Junction to New ISBT, 14.55 km) are under construction, with the priority corridor (Malahi Pakri to New ISBT, 6.49 km) opening August 15, 2025. Phase 1 includes 26 stations (12 elevated, 12 underground), with interchanges at Patna Junction and Khemni Chak.

Patna Metro expansion plans

Recent posts on X indicate metro coaches are arriving from Pune, and track laying is complete for the 6.49 km elevated section. The depot at Ramachak Bairiya is 85% complete.
