Comprehensive coverage of all lines (2025)
The Orange Line (IIT Kanpur to Kanpur Central, 15 km) is operational with 14 stations (9 elevated, 5 underground). The full Phase 1A (IIT Kanpur to Naubasta, 23.8 km, 21 stations) and Blue Line (Agriculture University to Barra-8, 8.6 km, 8 stations) are under construction, with completion expected by Q4 2025. Rawatpur will serve as the interchange station.

Kanpur Metro expansion plans
Phase 1B (Orange Line from Kanpur Central to Naubasta) includes 7 stations, with track laying and escalator installation ongoing, targeting Q4 2025. The Blue Line (8.6 km, 8 stations) is under construction, with tunneling starting mid-2025. UPMRC’s Vision 2051 proposes 5 new corridors (52 km, ~INR 4,250 crore) to Mandhana, Chakeri Airport, Unnao, and Bhauti, covering Kanpur and Unnao.
