Delhi Metro Rail Corporation increased services across its network in September 2026 to manage a sharp rise in passenger demand. According to the DMRC update reported by New Delhi Times, eight additional trains and 20 extra trips were operated on September 16, followed by further increases on later days.
The arrangements reached ten additional trains and 44 extra trips on September 21, with 10 trains and 39 extra trips on September 22. DMRC also deployed more than 40 additional Customer Facilitation Agents and around 17 ticket office machines to help passengers move through busy stations.
Delhi Metro recorded 82,44,903 passenger boardings on September 17, its highest daily figure at the time of the report. The service response shows how train frequency, station staff and ticketing capacity work together when demand rises across the NCR network.
