Maha Navami 2026 and Durga Visarjan: dates to remember
Maha Navami is listed on October 20 and Vijaya Dashami on October 21 in the Bengal calendar references used for this report.
The 2026 Durga Puja calendar places Maha Navami on October 20 and Vijaya Dashami on October 21 for the Bengal observance. The West Bengal SAHAJ portal lists Navami and Dashami as the closing stages of the main festival period, while the IMD calendar records the regional festival names.
Durga Visarjan is linked with the closing day in many public celebrations, but the exact procession route and timing belong to each committee and local administration. A visitor should not assume that every immersion event follows the same schedule.
If you are travelling to see a procession, check the organiser’s notice, keep away from restricted areas and leave room for emergency access. Public transport may be busier and roads may be diverted.
The dates in this story are calendar guidance, not a city-specific traffic advisory.
