Hyderabad commuters can now use a common pass across Hyderabad Metro and eligible TGSRTC city-bus services. Hyderabad Metro Rail Limited says the facility is intended to make daily travel easier by connecting two public-transport networks through one card.

How much does the common pass cost?

The one-day pass has a travel value of ₹400. A monthly pass has a travel value of ₹8,500 and remains valid for 30 calendar days, including the purchase or recharge date. HMRL’s terms also list a ₹100 card cost or security deposit, making the total purchase value ₹500 for the one-day option and ₹8,600 for the monthly option. The deposit is refundable only under the stated return conditions.

The one-day pass is valid for the calendar day on which it is purchased or recharged. The monthly pass is valid for 30 calendar days. The two categories cannot be converted into each other after purchase.

Where can passengers buy it?

The common card can be purchased and recharged at Hyderabad Metro station ticket counters. HMRL says the pass permits unlimited travel on Hyderabad Metro and eligible TGSRTC services during their respective operating hours. It is not a blanket pass for every bus service: TGSRTC city buses operating within the Outer Ring Road limits are included, while Pushpak services are excluded.

What commuters should check

Passengers should confirm that their bus route is eligible before buying the pass. The card is subject to system, network and validation availability, and a lost or stolen card does not qualify for a refund or adjustment. HMRL also says misuse can attract a penalty of up to ₹500 under the applicable TGSRTC rules, along with confiscation of the pass.

For a commuter who regularly combines Metro and city buses, the monthly plan may reduce repeated ticket purchases. Occasional travellers should compare the pass price with their actual journeys because unlimited travel is available only during the pass’s validity period and within the participating services.

The common pass is a current integration between Hyderabad Metro and TGSRTC; future inclusion of autos or other services would require a separate official announcement.
