Hyderabad commuters can now use a Common Pass issued jointly by Hyderabad Metro Rail and TGSRTC. The card is intended for passengers who combine metro and city-bus travel and is available in one-day and monthly versions.

Price and validity

The one-day pass has a travel value of ₹400. A ₹100 card cost or security deposit applies, making the amount payable at issue ₹500. The pass is valid for the calendar day of purchase or recharge.

The monthly pass has a travel value of ₹8,500. With the same ₹100 card cost or security deposit, the total at issue is ₹8,600. It is valid for 30 calendar days including the purchase date. The security deposit is refundable when the card is returned in working and physically undamaged condition, subject to the applicable process.

Where it works

The Common Pass permits unlimited travel on Hyderabad Metro and eligible TGSRTC city bus services during their respective operating hours. On the bus network, the pass applies to TGSRTC city buses operating within the Outer Ring Road limits and excludes Pushpak services.

Passengers should check the route or service exclusion before boarding. Metro and bus operators remain responsible for resolving travel issues within their own operating areas.

Where to buy it

HMRL says the Common Pass can be purchased and recharged at Hyderabad Metro station ticket counters. The one-day and monthly categories are separate and cannot be converted from one category to the other. A monthly pass can be recharged in advance, with the next 30-day period beginning after the current validity ends.

Is it useful for every commuter?

The pass is most relevant for people who make repeated metro–bus connections and can use the eligible TGSRTC services. Occasional metro users may find a regular ticket or other ticketing product simpler. Before buying, calculate the number of metro and bus journeys you expect to make, and remember that a lost or stolen card does not qualify for a refund or adjustment.
